Is the Filson leather field satchel discontinued? I didn't see it among the current offerings.

Could this be a prototype instead?

Not likely as google is littered with both TAN and OTTER GREEN first editions. Filson isn't in the business of releasing prototypes either...except if your BOYT (inside joke).

Man I want the new weatherproof leather Dopp kit but $225 is steep!

Lol. $225 and leather and Filson almost looks like a bargain these days.

The weatherproofing of the leather is intriguing as that's a potential weakness of leather bags is their susceptibility to water damage.

I have the very same photo and have shared it with the thread on more than one occasion. That is just one puzzle piece to a whole puzzle, where's the 256, 257 and pullman. There's plenty of missing information that is missing from that catalog to make this conclusive. The photo of the first edition small duffel that I shared (which is featured in that catalog) does offer proof to my argument that Otter Green existed from the fruition of the Rugged Twill Line.

That's a thing of beauty. I say use it but with care. You're lucky like me (with regards to my first edition #257) in that whoever had these bags first preserved them for a reason. Not many people will do that in the Filson community. Everyone is after the patina that made these bags pretty iconic (if we're still talking about nearly 30 years later)

I have both the weatherproof briefcase and the medium duffle. They are both amazing, but I didn’t pay anywhere near full price! Hoping I can catch the Dopp kit at a good price as well!

It's a really attractive bag. I would be buying it out of sheer greed ;-).

I think Nevadabob has one of these large compartment bags.

I don't doubt that he does, he's got so many Filson's he could make his own Filson-Fort.

It's really only damage that hurts these bags value: grease stains, ripped or broken zippers, large holes etc. In fact the very used but repaired
FrankenFilson FRD bags get the most $.
