Favorite apples

I'm not a fan of fruits like apples and pears for eating raw. IMO, they are for baking. Apple pie, apple pastries, etc. And since I'm a horrible baker, I have no clue what apples are best for baking.

Golden Delicious apples and Fuji are my two favorites. I go to Little Tokyo here in L.A. to get my Fujis.

Jonagold and Pink Lady are my favorites, and they are consistently good at the market. Some other varieties are more hit and miss- GD, RD, Gala, even Fujis all are inconsistent.

Just had some Ambrosia apples.
I'd recommend them a pretty darned good.

I was hooked for a while on the Gala variety. It is about the most different tasting apple of any recomended here.
