I don't think they got the clothes or music wrong. Especially that little mob up in Laurel Canyon.

During the (early) 70s the sequence of fashionable shoes worn, as I remember it, went as follows

wooden-soled loafers (maker?) 1972-3

'patchwork' (Solatio? crossover) 1973-4

'wedges' (Toppers?) 1974-5

I need to dig out some photos...

To my shame, wore all of them. They were **** compared to what came before, brogues ETC. In fact I can go worse. I had a pair of sort of wooden soled shoes with stack heels. They were blue with a red and a yellow strip, sort of Allaidinsane bollocks, across the toe. Got them in a market in the Midlands. Thought they were great...

During the 70s nostalgic old blokes only had Dads Army or The World at War to remind them of their youth.
Thanks to me, Todays Old Geezers have this thread to discuss their old shoes and music that they enjoyed in the olden days, oh well it keeps them out of Wetherspoons for a while.

Yeah, we've got a lot to thank you for. Posting about 40 Shrewsbury turning up at Bristol was riveting. Anymore moody FV to impress us with?
