Hi, please forgive the shoes and don't consider them. I'll get brown blucher wingtips or something, not these chunky outdoor nubuck shoes (Lowa).

The shirt is Hilfiger OCBD I guess "french blue" and the khaki chinos are really cheap from Sears. A brand called Retreat. I only paid $20. At least they are flat front and have a nice coin pocket. What do you think of the cut, the color combination, etc? The belt is Banana Republic Versatile brown belt, another good deal.

Thanks.

It's simple and clean. Works. However, your pants seem to be pulled up very high. Might want to consider that.

I would tuck the shirt in a little more so that it doesn't balloon out the sides. I'd second the comment on the rise of your pants because a lower rise can make you look a little taller. Not that you look short because you don't.

Good observation on the ballooning of the shirt. This might be occurring simply due to how high the pants are on the waist. Try lowering them somewhat and bring the bottom of the shirt down, too.

Thanks for the replies. I tried to put the pants on my "natural waist". I was aware of the ballooning effect but it seemed unavoidable. And no I don't work in IT, why? A navy blazer and grenadine tie is on my wish list.

Why are your pants so much lower in the front than the back? Suck in your gut and quit slouching.

Acceptable and very basic.

Personally, I'd go with a lighter shade of shirt and put on a blazer/sportcoat for a better look.

I think everyone here hit the high points for you. The rise on the pants (basically the distance from the bottom of the crotch to the belt line) is a bit long, giving you the high waist, and the shirt is a little full, causing the blousing at your waist. Overall, I am afraid it is what my wife would call "dorkey." Color on both is fine. You would benefit from lower rise pants, and a slimmer fit shirt. Oh, yeah, and stand up strait. You would be surprised at how much that helps.

My body type is ectomorph, and I sit in front of a computer all the time. I guess I should hit the gym. I thought I could afford french blue because I have a medium contrast complexion but I do prefer pale blue, or "baby blue". I'll really watch out for the waist of the pants and tuck the shirt more next time.

Thank you.

I think it looks fine; although I tend to stay away from plain blue shirts with khakis (a bit too IT uniformish). Also, I'd lose the hiking boot style shoes and pick up something more interesting.

Everyone over 9 years old should hit the gym.
