Well I think it depends on how your current pair fit. The main difference I noticed in fit was with the thighs and crotch area. They moved the crotch up on the newer design and so the thighs and knee area feel slimmer now... I'd say the leg opening is the same as before. That said, the pair from last season I own are a sz 28, but I've actually put on a bit of weight and so I'm not sure how much this affected the fit, but I tried on a sz 30 and they were comfortable and the fit looked good. I was able to put the 28's on, but they looked too slim even from the knee down.
Basically, even though I gained a bit of weight, I think it's safe to size up from your current pair (this is also what the sales told me). CM doesn't make size 29's so I wasn't able to try them on..
