Cashmere Sweater Hierarchy

How would it stand?

I'm looking to purchase a couple of staple cashmere sweaters -- V-necks in basic colours to last me for enough time to justify the investment.

I'm looking primarily at Pringle and Drumohr since they can be had at decent prices online. Are Malo and/or Cucinelli really worth the few extra hundred over Pringle/Drumohr?

How about a cheaper brand like Kangra, which is available on Yoox? John Smedley? The stuff Turnbull & Asser retails?

Anything else I should be considering, say at under $200 a sweater?

Thanks in advance.

Acrylic has the same properties as cashmere and it's in your price range.

How does Drumohr fit? I wear a size 42 suit (R or L depending on brand/cut).

I'll jump on this bandwagon...never had a Drumohr sweater. I wear a 40R jacket, what size sweater do those with knowledge think I would need?

Major big ups for Avon Celli, at least such as it was 2007-2008.

Kangra sucks, I bought and returned a Yoox blind buy.

Jil Sander feels lovely.

Note that erdos designer used to work for pringle. He has been working with Lagerfeld for many years.

I'm referring to a quite a large corporation based in Inner Mongolia, that sells high quality cashmere garments under their own name. Also supplies wholesale high quality cashmere garments and yarn to other manufacturers, including some Scottish ones and Ralph Lauren. Probably supplied Lagerfeld as well.
