The best comic book cartoon ever made. Really wish they can convert it in HD.
They had a marathon today at the Hub channel. They're still showing Batman animated series right now but it's the newer version.
And it's TDK at TNT and BB in FX right now.
Plus TDKR commercials everywhere.
BATMAN OVERLOAD!!!!

I caught the last hour of TDK on TNT. It was just a reminder that it's a movie I think I could sit and watch pretty continuously and not get sick of. I need to see TDKR again, but I didn't get that same sense of rewatchability. I'm seeing it on IMAX later tonight (my first IMAX experience), so maybe my thoughts on that will change with a subsequent viewing.

I saw the first two installments three times each in the theater. Circumstances will probably lead to me seeing this three times in the theater, too. But unlike the first two movies of the trilogy, there wasn't that instant, "I have to see that again" feeling to TDKR when I left the theater. I think that's due in part to the general feeling of despair that overhangs the duration of the movie. That's the intended effect, but it's draining. My initial impression is that TDKR is also clunkier and perhaps less worthy of its run time compared to the first two installments. I certainly liked it, but I would pretty easily place it below the other two movies if I were to rank them at the moment.

Begins never gave me that "I have to see it right away again" feeling. TDK and Avengers does and TDKR to some extent just so that I can fully comprehend everything in the movie. It is a long movie and I saw it at midnight, so it was late and I was tired. I feel like I may have missed or overlooked something so I have that inkling feeling to go see it again as soon a s possible and in IMAX if possible. I would go this weekend but the lines are so long for IMAX and I don't really want to deal with that.

I guess I'm just biased against Marvel, but I continue to be amazed how beloved Avengers is. I enjoyed it, but was itching to get out of the theater by time it ended.

My excitement over BB was due mostly to finally getting the "right" interpretation of the character. At times, I want to dismiss it a bit for its absence of one of those really hard-hitting villains, but I always seem to end up watching chunks of it whenever it's on TV.

I love how everyone's bitching, but basically just writing off the fact that you can't even make out 65% of what Bane says. Honestly, would this **** ever come close to flying in any other movie?

The first few lines I struggled with, but after a while it wasn't bad at all..

I just wished it wasn't so damn long.

I feel BB was a bit slow, maybe it has to do with that origins story being so well known that I really do not want to see it over and over again but I usually have to catch it mid-way through to gain some interest.

As for the Avengers, it's just plain fun and full of action. It helps that the film wasn't bad either, I feel Whedon really put all the components together well. Also slow in the beginning but once it picks up, it picks up! I guess it's like IronMan 2, movie isn't great by any standards but I can't help and check it out for the action. The only movie I can't stand the uber terrible plots/story is Transformers even with all the explosion and action.

i actually got this feeling of despair from TDK, but not at all from this movie. i know it was intended to have that feeling, but i didn't get it. the tone of all the main characters seemed to me more playful than the previous two installments, so that's probably why.

I remember when Begins came out in the theaters. Never really had any desire to see it, so it came and went. Then a year or so later, I added it to my Netflix, had no real hype about it, and then watched it and was blown away by it. It was great in a sense that it completely erased my memory of the cornier Schumacher Batmans.

It was good to see a super hero backstory pan out in an entire film compared to cramming it all in with 30 mins of a film before the conflict with the villain.

Got that feeling big time from Catwoman. Gordan amped up his despair for this one. Batman went more headstrong in this one, not really planning things out or building a sound strategy. Look at TDK in how much prep work went into going after the Joker. Then compare it to him immediately strapping up and going after Bane. It's like night and day.

The best cartoon ever made was not Batman: TAS. It is Young Justice, something that is currently running. Hands down. Or Justice League.

As for the movie, I felt the despair, more so than in TDK. Also, Bane was really a scary ass character. Every time he was on screen it was like someone was gonna die. I loved the movie. Can't believe people complain about it being too long. Can't believe I thought Anne Hathaway was gonna suck as Catwoman.

Didn't Bruce just laugh off Bane's role as a mercenary?

It definitely seemed to me that he was overconfident in going after Bane. His desire to finally get back in the suit was a huge ego booster, similar to Bane underestimating Bruce's chances of getting out of the pit.

As was Batman Begins, I felt coming out of the theatre that this was in face Batman Ends.

More in the sense of that Batman Begins was not a whole lot of Batman, but rather coping with this idea of Bruce re-entering the world. 'Rises' really brought things back in a closed circle with that tone, of Bruce reentering the world he left behind. Our screen time of Batman in these two films (BB and TDKR) is relatively low compared to TDK, and frankly the movie is more centered around Bruce Wayne than Batman. That is why I think I'd rather compare this movie in my head to BB, rather than TDK.

The difference between the three films is that in TDK, Batman was established and active, at this point Joker was another criminal/villain and he was out to get him.

Nolan's take on Batman has been great. What people plan to do with it after is going to always be looked at as 'Nolan did it better', I also attribute part of that to his brother and Christian Bale.

I really hope nobody tries to create a Batman flick for at least the next ten years, and that if they do, good luck...
