Are wholecuts ugly?

), there isn't really a point to post pics...my favorites would be the Weymouth, followed closely by the St. Crispins (RTW, of course).

Mostly slip-ons. The closest thing I have to bluchers is a pair of brown suede Zegna chukka boots. Those are actually the only lace-up shoes I wear for casual.

Yeah, it's a bit too elongated, nice shoe trees though.

The seamless wholecuts doesn't especially require the specialized technique.

Actually, it was splendidly completed.
In addition, it was also in Peron & Peron's ready-made shoes.
It is possible to make it also for a Japanese craftsman.

Here is a very nice wholecut made by Genki Shimomiya a Japanese guy, living (and working, I presume) in Cologne/Germany.
This particular pair got him one of the Gold medals at the shoemaker's competition, held every three years in Wiesbaden/Germany.
(That sole is a tour de force, maybe not very practical but pretty nevertheless.)

Unfortunately I know nothing about Mr Shimomiya (couldn't find him in the Cologne telephone directory).

don't remember if they were mentioned earlier, but I find these Paul Stuart's to be pretty sharp! On par with the Weymouth IMO. Nice antiquing to boot.
