I went TTS (only choice in this case since they only had them at 9D). I would say the Patriot fits TTS based on how it fits me.

Interesting I am also a 9D and went half size down in the Patriots. The length and width are snug, but I am still having trouble with the strap area. They don't seem to have stretched much at all.

Old:

New:

It seems that they are transitioning to the V-tread toplift across the board. From what I can tell, the V-tread toplift is a bit softer than the original toplift. Perhaps it may not "clack" as loudly when it strikes the floor, and it may have slightly different wear characteristics. As for being more prone to squeaking, I would be surprised if it made a difference, but who knows.

My bourbons strands came with the new heel, and my recrafted walnut strands.

You know what I did notice.... see the little pattern/design along the inside perimeter of the stitching? My recrafted strands didn't come with that, they are completely flat, no design. Hmmm...

I have yet to receive, but they are 12D and burgundy cordo
Can post some shots one I get them.

Nice. I returned a pair of cappuccino in 10.5B back a couple months ago, was curious to see what you got since I know there aren't many left.

Yeah, you aren't alone there. They don't seem to do the extra decoration on the recrafted soles.

I recently hopped on the 2 for 250 promo and just noticed on my statement that I was billed just over 260. I suspect it has to do with if AE has retail stores in your state then you may be responsible for local sales tax.

I snagged a pair of Shell McGraws for 125 as part of that deal, so I'm not going to complain!
There are plenty of states that don't charge any sales tax on shoes, so it doesn't matter if there is a retail establishment in those states or not. NJ is one of these. I will have to check to see if they charged me tax.

They look great!  Is that just Saphir, or did you polish them as well?

Yes! I picked up the January "Box of Awesome" with all the Saphir stuff and I'm still just freaking out about how much better it is than anything else I've used. Your Long Branch's look great!

Thanks, gents.

Just some Renovateur, which I let dry for 5 or 10 minutes, and then went at them with a horsehair brush.

Regardless where you buy the shoe if said company has a location in your state they are supposed to charge you your local tax rate

Which is 0 in some states. I don't get charged sales tax when I walk into a NJ Allen Edmonds retail location and buy shoes.

Maybe I was being a bit skeptical, but the recrafted sole as well felt much harder than the normal soles. I received my bourbons the day before my recrafted strands, and could have sworn the soles were rock hard compared to the bourbons. Maybe my mind is getting the best of me.

One issue I will have going forward, they better be able to re-sole my cordovan strands with JR. I dont' care if I have to pay a premium... In fact I am going to email them to see if that is possible.
