From personal experience, if you go oxford weave get the midnight. I bought the non-midnight navy version and its too close to a royal blue for my liking. Swatches are key to shades of navy apparently.

My new Hober arrived while I was on vacation last week. Had to ship it to my office so that my wife wouldn't find it! Will repost when I wear it. :slayer:

Diving in head-first to the Hober world. Just made my first purchase - four navy grenadines for my groomsman and I for my wedding in September.

Hope they appreciate the quality :)

Not necessarily lame, just "odd" in the image I'm forming in my mind. The scale would have to do drastically different, or the suit's pattern would need to be extremely subdued in my opinion.

Going to pick up a few grenadines in a bit but I'm not sure if I should go for the Fina weave or the Grossa.. Anyone have opinions on either of them?

I got a swatch of all the grossa and fina and I pretty much exclusively prefer fina. I think it's just a little more formal and sleek.

What exactly are swatches on the website? If anything I'll get 2 grossa and 2 fina ties. Thanks.

Just get at least one of each. Swatches alone won't allow you to fully appreciate what it's like to wear each type anyway. I like both grossa and fina (and prometeo and piccola) and think it's nice to own a mix of them. No need to choose one weave exclusively.

Other than the obligatory "get both," I find it's almost 100 percent personal taste. Gross and Fina are similar in formality. I prefer gross because I like having a bit more texture and personally think it goes better with odd jackets (purely a point on texture, not formality). Get swatches and see what you prefer. It's worth it to see some fabrics in person. Good luck.

Hober bespoke grenadines, and Macclesfield and Riva cotton/linen squares:

those grenadines are the ducks nuts. This seals the deal for me...im ordering a few for my wedding.
Do you happen to have the link to the one, second from the left? The two blue shades of stripe?
