All this talk of popovers is making me hungry. But seriously, I can't wait to try an Inglese popover/polo. A quick internet search led me to this:

@gdl203 Is this what you'll be offering eventually? That collar!

Yes, but not in a polo-style pique fabric. Also, I will know for sure when I open the box... which should be soon !

We ordered the
popover
in Grandi & Rubinelli white linen, G&R light blue linen and in Testa blue striped cotton/linen.

I think I may try a popover or three. Since I haven't tried any Inglese...how wide are they in the shoulders for size 15/38?

Makes sense in linen. Style seems best suited to a light, airy fabric. Don't think I'd care for it in cotton pique.

In fact the G&R linen fabrics are made both in popover and in full button down with one piece collar

now that i know what a POPOVER is, i think with khakis/chinos and casual shoes, they could make for a very cool summery casual look. i approve!

Obviously all up to taste, but in the short time I've worn popovers, I haven't found anything better for dressing down a tailored jacket. It's a bit dressier than a long-sleeved polo shirt, but carries the same casual sensibility. I imagine it would work well for many kinds of casual jackets as well (non-sport coat kind, meaning).

Also rolled up sleeves, nice shorts and espadrilles in the summer. A pair of Lunettes in Miele and the girls will come snapping at you.

Regular dress shirt length

Those tunics/long shirts can be really good for layering though. I like
