Alright - let me rephrase; I mean the Speedmaster Professional, stainless steel, with a brown dial. Smartass...

Really like the one on the right; any chance you can say a bit more about its details? What does the red/blue lining symbolize?

Wasn't interested in a manual wind with no date, otherwise I would have jumped on it.

What was the URL of the watch straps site that has great prices? I deleted my bookmark.
I know it was posted here before but Search does not find it.

As a couple of others have posted, it goes back to Steve McQueen and those Gulf stripes.

This one came as a limited edition a few years ago, I think 2005 or 2006, and is sold out. There have been two additional striped versions also issued as LEs but those had dark base dials (black and grey) instead of the white base.

'Countess' automatic made in Germany with lots of character. Purchased in the 1950s by my grandfather. I found it broken on the attic and had it restored.

Very nice! I think it would look beautiful on a brown leather strap!

I'm looking for a decent-quality diver to wear daily. I pretty much have it narrowed down to a Seamaster/PO or a Submariner. I like the look of the Submariner better, but I'm not sure about the nouveau riche connotations that can go along with the Rolex. Any thoughts? Is there any significant difference in quality between the two watches?
