They are practical for wet weather and slushy streets.

(Yes, I know you can't see the upper boot part under pants - although may be less true with slim fitting ones).

- Given up pocket squares (make me look too conspicuous as I've never seen one other person wear one)

- Given up Jantzen as crap in favour of tailored Barba and Finamore shirts

- Given up knit ties after a brief fling because I don't really like them.

- adopted two inch cuffs with slim bottom pants

- now wear white jeans a lot.

I think my influence comes more from the moderate examples in Mens Ex and Leon than from SF although there are always some good looks on here.

hmmmm, the only things that I can think of that have changed since I started with SF -
bought jantzen shirts and sam hober, carlo franco ties.
started wearing non-white pocket squares
less impressed with trafalgar braces than I used to be, now I want to buy Thurston broxcloth braces
have decided next suits need to have higher armholes, and better "drape"
no longer wear wimsical ties

pretty much everything else I came in with.

at least on mens clothing:
the only thing i really follow is buying allen edmonds.
i had been looking for some good value shoes and they seem to fit the bill.

on sw&d:
im all over all of it
raw denimz, canvas shoes, skinny jeans. etc etc

Totally random but you got two pairs of MTM/MTO boots from Vass a few yrs ago, were calf or cordovan and how well have they held up to the use you've been putting them through (what kind of wear, etc).

I have a style that is completley diffrent from most on here, it may not work for others but it dose for me so I don't bother with the adavce some have to say. I can say that I have never once given advice to another on here that I do not already adhere to myself.

I don't own a single piece of clothing from either Ralph Lauren or Brooks Brothers so I guess that goes against the SF customs. But then like everyone here I couldn't resist buying some Talbott socks from some SF member.

I must confess that SF influenced me to return to BB. I had stopped shopping there because of service issues, but after hearing a lot about them here I returned. I'm glad I did. Although I had recent service issues at 346 Madison, the service in Chicago at Michigan Avenue has been terrific.
