Here are the Abboud cufflinks from Shirtmaven, aka, Carl @ CEGO. The posts seem to be gold over sterling (vermeil).

Here's a pair of snap links that I got as part of an odd lot that came with another item I purchased:

Thanks. eBay IIRC. I've worn them a few times and really like them.

Links that were my grandfather Howard's. He owned a habedashery in Ohio.
Cheap knots that match my tux studs
Emmanuel College Cambridge
Vintage gold from ebay.

The gold cufflinks are very nice. I'm looking for something similar but can not find it. How much you pay for those? This leads to another questions...

SF:
What are some good sources for resonably priced solid gold cufflinks?

Ebay is not anymore.

^Here are the Abboud links in action:

A couple of cufflink related purchases: I had seen this kind of box on ebay some months back, was tempted, but never pulled the trigger. There's a local high end men's store that has a traveling vintage cufflink salesman come through a time or two a year. Her prices are out of this world expensive. Think really high, then double that and add some. I happened to stop in a few weeks back when they had some of her stuff on display (really gorgeous links). They had one or two of these boxes. I picked up to see the price and almost fell over. I think I may have blacked out briefly so my memory is a bit fuzzy, but she wanted either two or three hundred dollars for one. I knew then I needed to go ahead and get one (or two).

I paid about $12 each for these with shipping, and one even came from England. All the ones I see on ebay seem to be made in England. The leather on the 'Stud in Hand' one is really stunning. The 'Studs' one has a leather hing for the top that I don't think is going to make it much longer. I have original boxes for my studs, but these are great to hold snap links or silk knots.

Alan,

Are they enamel or precious metal based links?

They have some of both, but not all are enamel or made of precious metals. They do have lovely links, no doubt, but someone who knew what he was doing could get equivalent links for a fraction of the price on ebay. Of course, that's not their crowd. There are a lot of levels to pay out in that sort of sales setup, though, the buyer, the traveling salesman, the host store. Anyway, I love to look at their links, and it helps me appreciate my own all the more!

It's gotten a little slow lately, so I thought I'd post a pair that I want very much but can't afford.

Vintage Vespa Piaggio emblems made into (or originally made like this? I can't tell) cuff-links. I can't seem to get the picture to load, so here is a link (so to speak):

http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=9273983

Thoughts?

b

edit: I think I got the photo to work
edit 2: crap, that's huge. Let me know if you want me to kill it.

That doesn't do it for me but I didn't realize etsy had cufflinks. Or better yet, I should have realized it. That's actually a great way to support small designers and you can find some cute ones for about 10 bones.

Interesting design but way over priced at $114 IMO.

There are a couple of nice vintage enamel cufflinks on auction at ebay at the moment. Unfortunately, chances are that they will run over $100 in the end, but there is always hope!
