I didn't click on the link, but I advise against anything Hugo Boss related as well. Branch out from the mall brand hype. Search the forums more and browse some of our affiliates online selections. So much better bang for your buck out there that what you find in the malls and such.

I can't stand anything mall related anymore, outside of the sock, underwear, and occasional t-shirt purchase. Since learning about other brands on this forum and handling clothes made with better fits, materials, etc., it's amazing how your clothes game can grow and how awful you realize the mall brand stuff truly is.

Haha. B&S = Buying and Selling forum:

I would go with a military-inspired jacket over the actual model:

Can't speak to the quality of their mall line shirts and jeans and so forth, but Hugo Boss still makes some really great slim-fitting stuff in first world countries. They have different levels of quality, much like Ralph Lauren. Would be a mistake to wholly discount them, IMO.

HUGO aka red label quality leaves much to be desired if you want that, i suggest you find it at deep discount otherwise you can do better for your money, looks like something robert geller would do (not to my taste) but oakley does some cheap active wear little more "avant-garde" for you would be odyn vovk, although be careful with that since he draws heavy influence from womens wear

Hello Gents, need help deciding between these two sneakers to pair up with a Charcoal suit. Sorry, the Chucks seen in the background just don't work on this suit, I need slimmer pants (and tapered). If you're not into pairing sneakers with a suit please save your comments, I'm simply trying to decide what looks best out what I have here. Thank You!

leaning towards the darker grey at the moment. The lighter shade just looks like I tried to match the pants but failed. Although the lighter shoe IS better looking since the sole is all one color unlike the darker grey shoe.

^ All of those are terrible if you're pairing with a suit. Personally, there are plenty of comfortable formal footwear options, but if you are trying for this pairing, you need to avoid the silly sportswear type sneakers like Nike, Chucks, etc. and you should be looking for a plain all leather trainer sneaker with a low profile. No swooshes, no thick orthepedic looking sole, none of that, and no canvas.

My personal recommendation would be a sneaker with a similar look (if you can't stomach the cost of the real deals) to Common Projects in a light grey like the ones being sold in the B&S forum here or the all white version. In fact their desert boots are a great looks for this.

Also, I read in the other post you created that someone mentioned the Simon Spurr website for good ideas of pairing sneakers with formal wear and I agree 100%, great suggestion as those looks are great. All of them are paired with Common Projects sneakers.

Losing a bit of weight, tired of the tight/super tailored look on everything. Can someone give me a good reason not to get some relaxed/carrot fit/drop crotch chinos? I want to try a basic navy pair and maybe progress to a pair of gray ones. Def need something with a fuller fit as a slim fit only accentuates my... cycling thighs. I think I'm gonna make a stop at Topman at lunch today.

drop crotch pants can look silly sometimes. i have massive rugby thighs and i usually just look for stuff with a strong taper then sag a lil.

Hey, that was me! Actually, I've got an even better suggestion: check out this thread kwoyeu made with high-res pics (scroll down to the bottom and click on the spoiler box). You can get a real good look at the footwear there.

Anyone know where to look for some fabric wax? Like Filsons or a similar -- or any -- product that could be use to wax a jacket? I've tried Michael's, Hobby Lobby, Home Depot, JoAnne's Fabrics, and everything that came up on the interwebs for my city... I hear you can order it from Barbour, but I'd rather not wait a few weeks for a tub to arrive in the mail.

How identify nice shoes ? I'm looking for something up to 150$, so brand-shopping is out of the question. I've looked in local stores but there are all these random models.
For wearing with button down shirt // t-shirt // blazer and jeans/casual trousers (and maybe occasionally a fedora hat if i find a nice one).

Any tips for what to look for ? I was thinking of something suede.
