As someone else mentioned, buy something that fits in the shoulders and collar and get the sides taken in. Depending on what shirt you buy, the price + alterations should come in around $100. For custom, I just ordered a shirt from J. Hilburn where one of their agents comes to your home or office and measures you, shows you fabrics, then you can design the shirt. Turned out really good and the shirt is well made, easier than trying to take the measurements yourself. They have a few pricepoints, but offer shirts at 79 and 99. If you're interested let me know as I'm also in DC and can put you in contact w/ the rep I used.

Any suggestions? I see a lot of pricey shirts mentioned but since I'm just starting out finding my "look" I'd like to start under $100 if at all possible.

We have a lot of more upscale malls in this area but I'm not against buying things online. I'm just sick of trying to put a fitted sweater over a "fitted" tent.

One shirt I've found so far is the Brooks Brothers Extra Slim Dress Shirt

nringo - I'm in NoVA and can probably use your contact. What is the turnaround time for shirts? Need something by end of month. From the looks of it on their site, shirt prices start at $109 Thanks!
