I thought the Incredible was the new "it" Android phone. The original Droid is so 6 months ago.

I prefer the Moto Droid. That is funny though that some people refer to the Moto Droid as Verizon's 'old' phone when it still dominates the new iPhone. Android OS is where it's at.

Should I buy an HTC? I currently have a Sony W350 which has served me well for like two years, I don't really need to waste time with a bunch of PDA/online functions, listening to music is really the only space saving function my phone could have.

On the bright side, my buddy ordered one mid May, scheduled ship was mid 6/14 or so, but he actually received it 6/2.

If you don't need a smartphone, there's no point in buying a high-end HTC.

^^Is that 08 Jul or 07 Aug? Either way, unreasonably long.

Sorry, July 8th. About 1 month from order. If it works like my friend's experience, I will be looking at a new phone in about 2 weeks time.

EDIT* It is a long wait, but it's a VERY popular phone and they've been having supply shortages for components like the display, made by Samsung...

You know that inevitably they will come in here, and try to sell us iPhones again. I don't know why you bother. Unless you like watching me

Just as an aside, my Nexus One running Android 2.2 puts up Quadrant scores of 1500+ pretty easily.

Linpack scores 41.300 Mflops peak, 38.34 averaged.

I wish they could make a smart phone with a battery that lasts longer then 4-5 hours... My phone always dies 1/2 way through the day....

I am getting a bit over four hours of constant use + about four hours of standby. If I run out, I keep a charged spare in my car.

I was pretty disappointed to hear my Incredible won't be getting 2.2 until Dec.

It's still really snappy and does everything I need it to do extremely well so far. I believe I'll be an Android user for a very, very long time.

Will be trying out Layar when I go grab lunch.
