The blue blazer is alive and well, and being worn by elderly overly-tanned gentlemen on the Cote d'Azur who pair it with sailing caps from their yachts.

most people will not recognize single va double vent. It is very easy to swap out buttons for brass (readily available online).

Gold buttons are great. Would wear it on a Friday at the office.

Brown-horn buttons are great too, and stand out less than gold.

When I was in the navy I wore my DB gold button uniform without feeling the spotlight effect. As a civilian, whitout a boat/yacht, i feel that the gold buttons has a too strong maritime connection. I like the brass buttons and silver buttons shown here, but i am not sure if I could pull it off. I also wonder what figure/symbol I would have on my buttons.

I have a US-made Burberry blazer, and I swapped the golden prorsum buttons for regular old blue horn buttons a year ago because I was always caught between the buttons being overdressed for a casual-ish night out and a "why don't I just wear a suit" feeling for dressier affairs.

I don't know, but I always associate double vents with the Mafia, single vent is prep and cleancut ...LoL
Some of us got to the double vent for our generously proportioned seats as it sits better than single vent.

In sort of a departure from the norm, I ADDED metal buttons to my Oxxford blazer in lieu of the brown horn buttons they came with it. However, I found a burnished bronze set with American eagles on them. A little more subdued than shiny gold (which I think also looks great).

BTW, I wonder how many folks across the pond had to look up the Thurston Howell reference earlier in the thread. :)

I guess these gold buttons over in the DB style thread are a bit more anonymous.

Your Alma Mater, service branch or family coat of arms I would guess.
