Yikes, a lot of Woodford around here lately. Doing my part to raise the bar - Parker's Heritage Barrel Strength 63.7%. Stagg is a kick in the pants, this, at almost the same ABV is much more subdued, lots of molasses and plums. Tons of flavor. I should be drinking this more often...

Ardbeg 10 year old. If you're a fan of the Islay malts then you have to try it. Great Stuff.

Lion (Sinha) Stout It's a remarkably good Sri Lankan stout, I read about it in Michael Jackson's Classic Brews. Wow, it has an aroma of roasted malts, soy sauce, and ginger. What a unique combination, thankfully, it doesn't taste like soy sauce

but it does have a very nice lingering dark chocolate and ripe fruit aftertaste. It's 8.5% alcohol content is somewhat excessive, the body is not strong enough to cover up the degree of alcoholic character that it has, but it is only a minor detractor from a great stout. And I'm going to have myself just a wee bit of Glenfiddich 12 (Sorry big time scotch connoisseurs, I can't afford The Balvenie yet) before bed.

Victory Prima Pils tonight with my Ducasse style ribeye. Rather good pils. Also, I know several beer nerds will probably disagree, but the new Sam Adams Noble Pils is a great beer. Try both... I think I actually like the Sam Adams a little better, especially its finish.
