That's a good woman. You hold on to that one.
May I recommend Red Breast? It's an Irish single malt. Possibly my all time favorite.

I surely don't deserve her; hopefully she will hold on to me.

And yes you may suggest that spirit...it was one of my first foray's into Irish whiskey back in the day. I love it, and always keep a bottle on hand.

Connemara the gateway malt to peat obsession. Gotta try the 22year and cask strength also

funny you would mention that...I've been trying to source it but have only been able to locate it out of the States. I'll do that if I have to, the reviews on it are really good. Hey, I went all the way to Sweden for the Balvenie 17year peated, so maybe.

I have an unopened bottle of their "Turf Mor" edition I picked up when I was last in Ireland. I remember liking it at the time but I can't remember what the difference is now. But in general I really liked the Connemara stuff!

In my previous career I used to enjoy a couple of beers with my cooked breakfast. Beer goes really well with bacon, eggs, sausages, mushrooms, tomatoes and black pudding, all on fried bread.
Mind you, I'd have been on watch on the bridge since 0400, so beer at 0800 wasn't really a problem!
