First come first serve was some time ago, but for some of the beers (like the 8 blonde) the production is large enough at times that they will sell it like on the spot without reservations.

Last time I went there was this fall and the sixpacks do exist, they are sold in the gift shop of the adjacent (and also owned by the monastery) restaurant. Magnums i have not seen...

Perhaps ill do another pilgrimage there soon, in which case ill report here again (its only a 2 hour drive from where i live).

Ahh. Thanks for the update. I had a friend go many years ago. One couldn't pre-order then.

I will eat crow. My mistake.

I wouldn't go out of my way to find it.
I was given two bottles by a close friend before i went into open heart surgery last year, i was to drink them if (obviously i did) live through the procedure.
I had one bottle a few months ago, i found it deep but far too sweet. I know it was stored properly and he brought them back himself from the brewery so they were taken care of, the flavor at first is great but the finish is so beyond sugary you sort of wonder why the hype.
Still have another bottle, will probably drink it soon.
