I would highly recommend Wild Ginger for lunch or dinner. I've never been to Vancouver, but I can't imagine anyone would think there isn't good eating in Seattle.

There's also the new(ish) Olympic Sculpture park. I don't know much about it except that it has a Calder and I like Calder.

Oh, and as for drivers in the Seattle area: Dtmt, you've clearly never lived in other parts of the US!

I still have fond memories of people stopping for me while I was in the crosswalk while living in Seattle. Don't try that here in DC.

I've driven all over the US -- don't get me wrong, there are bad drivers everywhere, but Seattle is the only place I've ever seen someone plow into a group of pedestrians who had the right of way, in broad daylight.

As someone who walks everywhere in Seattle I've had so many close calls with drivers in situations like this. It's made me understand the value of seemingly silly laws that some places have like "no right turn on red".

Funny, but when I lived in Seattle I always thought that drivers were way to nice to ped's. I mean I walked everywhere and people would slam on their brakes if I even looked at the cross walk.

The things I would do if I was visiting Seattle tomorrow, is go up the space needle, I never did while I lived there, go to the Filson flagship store, and try and catch a SeaHawks game. and get hot pot.
