Not sure if me passing on the Amaretto shell service boots was a mistake or not. Rocking the Bourbon Shell service boots today for some work in the lab.

Chalk it up to the grass always being greener on the other side and all that. I wore my amarettos out today for the third time since their delivery, and while I love how vibrant they are, part of me wish they were a bit more subdued like your bourbons.

Don't get me wrong, I like them and knew what I was getting into when purchasing, but the inconspicuous consumption side of me felt they were a bit much in the bright light of day.

Perhaps with more time and wear the in-yo-face orange hue will tame a bit, but if not I'll just wear them with lighter denim/pants for less of a contrast.

I will say this - I love the 2020 last. I went a half size up from my 2030 and they feel amazing.

the countdown page for the Viberg shell preorders changed.

There's no preview image yet for the Armagnac boxboard.

Natural Halketts are now February.

Dark Cognac Halketts still December.

No January shell as of now.

My man -- they look fantastic. As you probably recall since you helped me out with them a few years back, I have a pair of Amaretto Carminas. Mine have a lot more wear and started out a bit lighter than your vibergs. Your pair will begin to take on some reddish brown rusty undertones in not too much time -- hard to photograph. I also have an amaretto watch strap which looks pretty much like any other heavily worn shell ?, ie. you'd never know it was amaretto, but that's a different thing altogether.

Were these awful to break in? Wearing my for the dome and never had such a rough time with breaking in Vibergs before. Midsole seems inordinately hard/inflexible.

Trying to determine if my feet have gotten weak from the WFH life, or if there was something goofy with this batch.

I agree with you about the midsole on these now that you mention it, assuming these are the oiled shinki makeup.
