Press conf. at 5:15PM tonight. A new dynasty in the making.
This will be very interesting. The OSU/Meyer courtship up to this point has been a ridiculous back-and-forth of totally contrived and clearly fake mystery. Glad it's over.
While OSU has never really hired a "rock star" head coach (as ESPN referred to him) out of the gate and instead have made the careers of smaller-time coaches during their tenure in Columbus, Meyer really does have big shoes to fill. He was 65-14 at Florida. While that's obviously respectable, Tressel was 94-22 at OSU. He has a lot to do if he wants to outshine Tressel.
Either way, Bucks fans and Urban have to be over the moon.
So he's going to run a spread offense with the slowpokes at OSU? This is Rich-Rod, Part II.
Word on the street is that Meyer was pretty heavily medicated his last year at Florida and couldn't put in the hours and effort he used to. He's a pretty fragile character. The chance that he puts up a comparable run to his run at Florida is approximately zero.
I don't think this one will work out: expectations are too high.
It will typical OSU football. Kick everyone's ass in the Mid-West and then get smoked by the SEC in the bowl game.
we shall see GO BUCKS!
