EPAULET SASHIKO SPORTCOAT, DOYLE, & CHINO PROJECT: NATURAL, NAVY, GREY, BLACK
Dear Friends,
The COVID-19 Pandemic is a terrible crisis for everyone, but its effects are falling hardest on the poor and working class. Our local Los Angeles factory is fighting for survival, and we're offering this project as a way to keep them afloat during these times.
We're offering our Sashiko garments ... arguably our most sought-after items, as part of a novel preorder project that gives back directly to the craftspeople who make them. We've called it Unidos Juntos, or "Working Together." Here's how it works:
1) Between now and Sun 4/12, you can order a Sashiko Sinclair, Doyle, or Rivet Chino in any size that we offer. You can opt for the Natural (as shown) or select Navy, Grey, or Black for an additional charge.
2) A workers fund will be established with $20 taken from the sale of each Doyle & Sinclair and $10 taken from the sale of each Rivet Chino. These funds will be divided up and paid to each of the nine craftspeople who produce these garments. This payment is in addition to the regular wages that they receive and will help them out immensely with childcare and other expenses during this time.
3) This project is relatively simple allowing the workers to sew these pieces at home whist under the current California guidance. Lead time for natural garments will be approximately 4-6 weeks, most likely on the shorter side of this.
The color garments must be dyed at our local dyehouse, which is currently closed, but slated to reopen in mid-April. Provided that happens, the dyed garments can ship around the end of April. But that timeline depends on the State of California, so please understand that it could be delayed further.
Thank you so much for your support! Let's keep the trade going, keep our workers paid, and get you guys into some incredible new clothing! Please feel free to contact us for personal sizing advice.
