I got a navy herringbone from Harrison's moonbeam bunch, while not cashmere, it is soft and nice. I haven't made it up yet but I think it will make a nice SC.

This is definitely under consideration - I have a jacket currently in production from that book. I like the feel of it a lot. Have you found that it keeps its shape pretty well?

I have the same one and it definitely keeps it shape nicely. I don't wear it too often (too many sportcoats!), but always enjoy it when I do.

yywwyy: Looks good. Next time, I'd lower the breast pocket 1" and shrink the lower patch ones a bit.

What about recs for herringbone cashmere in a dark, rich, navy? Would be for a SC, not a suit.

I am over cashmere and have now become a huge fan of escorial. I can get you a length but check with whoever your tailor is. When I get home I'll post pics from the book, there are a few herringbones.

yywwyy, those patch pockets are way too big, should not be above the bottom button. Also, lower the gorge and breast pocket next time.

I have a coat with the lighter than navy herringbone Moonbeam. I like the look and feel of the cloth, and it holds its shape fine. However, the cloth just feels very delicate. I haven't had the coat long enough to comment on its durability, but it just feels like it will wear through easily. It also gets a little fuzzy, like the way a sweater piles, and it attracts hairs like a magnet.

The apparent placement of the gorge and breast pocket are almost certainly the result of taking the picture from a low angle.

If it might please the Morel, I will note that I am wearing one of his creations today.
