Minnis Classics also has this it seems. I guess I could potentially have this made by Minnis to my specifications if need be if they could do the bridseye in more of an open weave. We'll see if I want to go through all that again regardless!

This has 30% mohair in it so I wonder how different it will wear from the regular 9/10 fresco?

I would guess that that cloth needs the mohair to keep its shape. Birdseye has long floats in the weave, it would not work as all wool fresco, it would be limp and prone to nasty pulls and pills.

My nailhead above has a lot of mohair in it, though I don't know how much.

So perhaps lambswool with 30% kid mohair? I l kind of like the sound of that.

Anyone have experience with cavalry twills from huddersfield dugdale? How would the 20oz work for trousers? What were these cavalry twills intended to be used for?

Cavalry twills are traditionally used for equestrian trousers. Hence: weatherproof and durable. The Dugdale is dependable and solid cloth, and a blazer plus cavalry twill trousers is pretty much the English uniform.

Are there any good places to get fabric online? I have done searching and found links in old threads to different mills, but often times there is no way to order online.

Or at least a place where I can look at different books online? Minneapolis doesn't have a lot of options.

Much appreciated, guess I will order a trousers length and see how it turns how. Will 20oz work as trousers or am I better off going with 15-16oz?

Depends on where you live. Anywhere hot or humid is going to be highly uncomfortable, anywhere resembling English autumn, go heavy. It'll drape and keep a crease better.

for whatever it's worth, I have a birdseye from the minnis crown classic bunch, and it's great but does not at all wear particularly cool. I think birdseye tends almost universally not to wear cool. it's great cloth, though. the mid-blue in the lesser 13 book is another stunning example.

This is really true, I also have one in crown classic, it is only good for autumn and winter in Hong Kong, I can wear it as long as below 25 *c, there is aircon anyway so it is fine
