I am going to have luxire make me a pair of blackwatch tartan trousers to wear with a navy velvet shawl collar dinner jacket I own. The combo will be worn probably one to two times per year during Christmas and NYE.

Luxire offer two different blackwatch fabrics.

VBC 100 % wool. 12 oz

E. Thomas 90/10 % wool/cashmere 9.5 oz

Both cost 200 USD. The e Thomas looks some what more muted in the pictures. The VBC migth drape better and probably last longer, but with the infrequent wear I am not too concerned about durability. I Generally run hot, but I am not sure if the E. Thomas will wear cooler.

Do any of you own one of these fabrics?
Which fabric would you choose?

Anyone know of any good sources for highly slubby fabrics?

The only ones I've found are the DWW "Summer Tweed", and these slub fabrics by E. Thomas. The jacket below is OTR by Spier & Mackay.

That is one hell of a statement piece. Yeah the guy at the shop said that they'll be needing more cloth with a patterned cloth like a PoW than let's say a herringbone due to pattern matching.

That is fantastic – who's the maker?

In addition to the Liverano Ulster I'm doing, I'm also thinking about a belted Balmacaan – likely from Caid (also through The Armoury).

p.s. Took me a minute to realize "PoW" meant "Prince of Wales," not "prisoner of war"…?

For my coat, or Zerase's local MTM shop?

If my coat, it's my local tailor I used here in Canada. The cloth is Marling & Evans.
