Thanks to all the other finalists and contestants, and thank you to Manton for judging. I'd like to sponsor some other contests in the future. Any suggestions?

Thank you, thank you!

For the record, I actually voted for Brownshoe. That said, I still wanted the pocket square.

I think the best idea for a future contest would be multiple pattern matching to go along with Manton's recent threads on the same. It has the most potential for the greatest heights and the greatest disasters.

And pocket squares would be an integral part of any winning ensemble.

Congratulations, Alan!

It's also good to see Brownshoe in a very respectable second place. Well done, gents.

Best conservative business dress would be one obvious suggestion for a contest. And following the example of the Corduroy Club, "Exceptional Use of Corduroy," "Exceptional Use of Tweed," etc. might be other possibilities.

I will cry foul as the mood strikes me. Part of the fun of conservative business dress is the intellectual dishonesty behind the critiques.

"Trad", eh?

... So just what is it then?

We hear about it.
We see certain photos.

Probably it is that Alan C. look...

Why it is probably is more interesting than what it is (well... to me anyway).

I'd love a neat little summing up from Alan C.

You up for it Al.?

Yrs.

That was a lot of fun. Congrats Alan, richly deserved.

Thanks Kent and Manton, and everyone for their kind comments.

Now that Terry and Vaclav have chimed in, what more can be said?

Long live Trad, Shad, Ivy, TNSIL, Preppy, or whatever you want to call it!

By the way, might we ask AlanC for suggestions on how to adapt his look for younger guys, a sort of more contemporary or youthful trad for the 2000's, as self-contradictory as the term might sound?
