Sure I get that, I wanted it specirically for a funeral later this month though. Would rather a black silk knit for general black neck tie.

Black grenadines are pretty versatile and easy to come by. Shouldn't look out of place.

Drakes gets various clothes each season, so the changes season to season on staple-like items like this are likely going to boil down to subtle difference in the base cloth. Repp vs super repp implies the "super" might be slightly heavier, but without the original product description, no way to know. There also might be slight variations on construction (tipped, self-tipped, hand rolled…)

In the end, a Drake’s Repp tie, is pretty much a Drake’s Repp tie.

I managed to find the original description: "A solid super repp tie offers incredible depth of colour and a truly defined twill. An excellent choice for a restrained block colour tie, and ideal for a ceremonial environment where it's lustre can really come to life."
The new one's description is: "Few ties retain such a sense of classicism and relevance like a solid colour repp silk tie. This modest yet eye-catching iteration is sure to generate an air of quietly studied refinement."

Black grenadines are pretty versatile and easy to come by. Shouldn't look out of place.
Do you think fina or grosa would really matter for a funeral?

Okay, final post re the tie...
Drake's customer service said the difference is that the ribbing of the twill is slightly thinner and not quite as tall/pronounced, so yes probably a little lighter because of that, but that the tie itself is completely black and the greenish tint is just a weird thing from the photograph on screens.

Did you go to a leather specialist to get this done? Ordinary alterations tailor? Some other option?

Nope, I just went to my neighborhood dry cleaner who does alterations. I bought some navy polyester at the discount fabric store and brought it to him.

For me it’s hard to tell from those pictures. The shoulder looks rather dropped and you are rolling up the sleeves. Seems to be quite a bit of room in the chest but again I just can’t tell. Also not sure how you prefer to wear it.
Thanks for the feedback! You're right that the overall fit is a bit relaxed, to me that's what seems most consistent with the Drake's lookbooks.

Personally think chore coats look better when they're a bit loose. Gives it a much more easygoing, relaxed vibe.

yeah I think it’s good if that’s what you like. Mine probably fits pretty close to this I just can’t really tell because of the pictur close up angle and rolled up sleeves.
