Clear how?
I can see what I believevto be individual non-unifirm pieces of leather (or a material that looks a lot like leather stacks on all the shoes I have ever seen). As an engineer I see nothing uniform, each piece looks a little different. Can be sure it is leather, no because i am not going to prod or cut to scratch that itch. But going by what I can see I am very happy.

I just got my first Vass and am very happy. I bought them from Ascot/Karl from his sale on eBay (I am in the UK).

I got a great deal (comparable to direct) including View attachment 1465749 the 3 piece trees.

The shoes are lovely, really dark bordeaux with subtle museum finish. The heal is clearly a full leather stack.

Fit is genrally very good, a little pressure on the arch but should be fine with a little wear.

Really elegant, just need to find some decent laces as the stock ones are thin cotton. Kark did include some nice red laces which are much better quality but it is not a look i would go for. View attachment 1465748 View attachment 1465751

Quick box opening.
Placed the order last Tuesday, quite smooth, no complains. Btw Vass Ins is quite responsive this time.

Another interesting note is that the shoetrees are becoming more and more hollow. Prob not a coincidence as Vass is selling more shoes over the Internet and shipping overseas. My first few pair of Vass all had completely solid lasted shoetrees. Then I received some that had the first section hollowed out. Now this pair has much more wood removed from the heel portion of the shoetrees as well.

they are not switching over, just have a few random pairs of these hollow ones. For example I just received 40 pairs of stock and 3 of them have the hollow trees, rest are standard.
