Glad I could provide any inspiration to you/the shoemaster.
Just a question. The shallowness of the vamp area. How does that fit you?
I suppose as bespoke... perfectly...it just seems so shallow.

yes like you said fit is perfect, there is a lot more room than you think

Beautiful Shoes by Il Quadrifoglio (by Kunai Atsushi)

Kobe based shoemaker Kunai Atsushi apprenticed under Roberto Ugolini before launching his own brand Il Quadrifoglio in 2010. He also considers Koji Suzuki (a Ugolini studio alumni and also based in Kobe) as his mentor.

Bespoke Show 9/7 ~ 9/10 @ World Footwear Gallery in Hotel New Otani Tokyo. Bespoke shoes start from 210,000 JPY (2,680 USD)

Thank you for the pictures, nutcracker! I'm surprised by the price you mention: I thought Japanese cordwainers charge as much as the English.

Il Quadrifoglio Bespoke actually starts from 180,000 JPY (2,300 USD) if you visit him directly in Kobe. The 30,000 JPY upcharge is presumably taken by the Tokyo boutique.

His price is actually in line with other newcomers who are flooding the Japanese Bespoke scene lately. It's quite awesome for bargain seeking clients willing to try out / risk with new shoemakers. Il Quadrifoglio was relatively unknown in Tokyo until this year when he started to do shows, and I'm sure he'll quickly raise the base price once his business picks up steam.

but you're right, established Japanese cordwainers charge as much (and often more) than English.
