I was intrigued by this I'm guessing early 1980s Macy's suit. Made in Italy, full canvas, surgical cuffs.

Though after I got home, I realized it was non vented. Guessing the jacket length is supposed to be for a taller guy but it's still within reason as a more traditional length?

Shoulders might be a tad wide? Anyway, worth the $10 pants hem... Or "it's just not working for you"?

Looks good to me, but hard to say without a photo of you wearing the whole thing. Appropriate jacket length is very dependent on trouser profile
