So I totally agree left looks better, but let’s be honest, Tucker likely spent $35 on those Dockers, whereas ones on left are likely bespoke, so not a very fair comparison I don’t think. Coat is definitely short.

Can't stand Tucker, but anyone compared to Mark Cho isn't going to fare very well.

They look like the Armoury's sport chinos, which are not quite bespoke, but still $325. So again, not quite the fairest comparison.

Another person from that cohort who has amazing style is Bill Nighy. The Rake just featured him. Also, his latest film, Living, is well worth watching.

I've been fortunate to hang out with Bruce a number of times. He is such an enjoyable guy who knows exactly what works for him in color and fit for two reasons. 1) he is a great observer who can describe exactly why something works without getting overly nerdy and 2) he has worked all of his adult life with many of the finest tailors in Europe.

For those of you who don't know, we hosted a 20 + vendor trunk show in NYC in 2017 or so, and Bruce Boyer was the guest of honor and signing his latest book..

There were over 1250 guests that attended our one day event, and there was, at at least one point, a 50+ person deep line for signings. We sold over 100 of his books, and I even gave up my personal copy to a Styleforum member who really wanted a copy and had not brought a copy so that he could support the forum (I still have an account with the publisher lol).

Gus was Bruce's designated host, and while Bruce's tweed jacket and signature glasses were not to be beaten stylewise, @Gus did make a legitimate run at the man.

I've only met him once, but several things struck me.
He's just a lovely person.
He definitely knows what "works" and what doesn't. (for himself, and others...)
He knows exactly what works for him, and has those experiences that Gus mentions to inform his current style.
He can talk about OTHER topics beside menswear, we had a lovely chat about clothes, clothing colors, then shifted to a variety of others topics....

They are brown and suede, taking them down at least two notches on formality. Seems perfectly normal to me.
