Great looking Caps. Black? A-o-C had a black captoe model (plain) on the Plaza a few years back that was really sharp, but they don't offer it anymore on that last. Bummed I missed out on that one.

Yep, these are black 4065s from TSM.

I am thinking about replacing my black NST bluchers with one of these models... How does each rate in terms of versatility (going from chinos/denim to suits) and style?

yes, I am fortunate enough to have 2 pair of Color 4 boots.

Personally, I think I would wear the NST more with denim. And I have still been going back and forth on that because I really want a pair of NST. I dress business casual for work (khakis) and I will only buy shoes that can pull double duty from now on. I have a black bal and a burgundy bal that I can wear for any dress occasion. I don't need anymore shoes that I won't/can't wear casually.

my search experience to Alden cordovan boots in Berlin yesterday was a huge flop!

I was in 5 shops.
In 2 they had cordovan boots, but unfortunately the 12 was to short and in the 13, I slipped slightly from front to back.
A 12.5 is nowhere to be found.
One was the Naval Boot on the Barrie Last and than i tried a Indy Boot but there was the same Problems.

My hope was to find the right size for Alden ( i have a UK 12 in Edward Green und Crockett&Jones) AND a Cordovan Boot but no Boot and i dont really know my size.

I found a Tanker Cordovan in 12.5 online but there is no Lastg info. So i dont know if i need the 12.5 or the 13 because it maybe is a true size Last.

So tomorow the search will be continue.

I was daydreaming this morning...wondering if the MTO Ravello Captoe boot SF did via Leffot would ever get produced. That was submitted to Alden two years ago August. We can only keep hope alive!
