Nice to see you, Old Sport! Hope you are safe, healthy, and well.

thank you, my friend! I wish/hope the same to you. I’ll post an update here maybe next week when I get some time.

Some very bad recently, but things are on the up trend! Lots of good in life, that’s for sure!

I have some neat extracurricular stuff to share from my paternity leave as well.

Happy Labor Day all!

Savvy’s back from paternity leave! Got a nice promotion as well.

First day back in the office last week and the AE Parks in shell were Johnny on the spot.

Lots of news to share, some good and some bad, unfortunately. Will save that for another day.

Hope all is well with all of you.

Had to blast post my back to office shots.

The third shoes are the Savvy Harvard Wing special… missing my friend and co-creator/reason they’re a reality… Jim Pietryka @jpm1. When I pulled them out I just knew it would be a good day.

Went with an all Alden week after returning from Covid. Today, my favorite color shell. I'm not sure they're my favorite boots b/c commando causes more fatigue in my back and my knee that no longer has a meniscus. But, like my whiskey shell cap toes that I wore on Wednesday, one day these will have a different sole and then they will be my favorites.

For those wondering, the jeans are Naked and Famous left hand twill on their maiden voyage.

Heading home, waiting to board at ATL yesterday.

All eyelet boots added a bit of inconvenience at TSA screening and this may sound weird, but wearing them the rest of the time made it worth it. Very comfortable, even after a long day that included a decent amount of walking.

As I've learned from others on here, if you have TSA Pre, you can request to go through the body scanner as opposed to the metal detector. I always tell them I have steel boots and they allow me to go through it and I never have to take off my Aldens.

Salem, Ma. w/ Mrs. Vincent.

Color 8 Indys (Neocork) at the Salem Witch Museum.

We also saw a great fashion exhibit re: Patrick Kelly at the Peabody Essex Museum.

Thanks, fortunately I don't have to fly all that often so I haven't gone through the hassle and cost of getting PreCheck, yet. TSA screening is fragmented and confusing right now. The advantages of TSA PreCheck, Global Entry, Clear and any priority associated with first class tickets are not very well defined and at times seem to be almost irrelevant.

I have come to the realization that I don't fit in economy or general cabin seats anymore. I haven't gotten bigger, the seats have gotten significantly smaller. Upgrading to "comfort" class or first class is almost a necessity for me.

I wore comfortable loafers on the trip to ATL, they were very convenient for getting through TSA, but sub-optimal for the walking required YMMV

Damn it!

I’ve pretty much experienced this exact same phenomenon over the years, myself - but it’s just now dawning on me that years in the service must’ve ingrained that I can fit into a child seat strapped to the side of a rusty sky tractor, if that’s what’s offered…

I need to apply some of your common sense logic and start upgrading to an appropriately-sized seat for my frame - life’s too short… If nothing else, I should do it just to avoid people / drink carts / luggage from scuffing my shoes 😝
