Nice hat! I had the same advice from my dermatologist three years ago. No fashion statement for me, just better to avoid more skin damage. Melanoma is a real thing.

I also wear hats to protect my eyes. My ancestors lived near the arctic circle and passed down eyes adapted to months of darkness. I always wear a hat.

Multi-tasking and doing a few things I enjoy after a particularly long work week. Watching some amazing basketball (shot-making in the NBA these days is just through the roof), sipping some Four Roses Small Batch Whiskey and doing some shoe work. I'm ok with antique but not a fan on raw edges so my converted BB Unlined 8's get some AE Chili Heel & Edge Dressing. Gotta get creative to get the top of the welt without staining the shell. A before and after shot(s).......

Not sure how I feel about the outcome of the game but thrilled with how the shell's turned out.

Really digging the recent loafer-love!

I had these unlined beauties resoled in 2017. They are my knock-around shoes that double for slippers on occasion - they are that comfy.
The light welt has darkened on its own I've time.

Made my first Alden purchase! Managed to find a nice pair of NOS color 8 unlined LHS in my size that are probably a few years old. Maiden voyage today. Very happy with the fit and finish.

Those are a massive win. Congratulations, those are one of the best models that Alden has to offer! Enjoy those amazing relics that are no longer available.

Oh I know about them, Amish country is a 30 minute drive. Optimo is a 6 hour round trip, I opted for easy.

Speaking of BB unicorns, UPS just dropped off a couple pair I sent to Aram for repair. The lighter color with the antique edging had a really cheap sole on them which made them quite uncomfortable after only a couple of hours. I replaced them with JR soles. Additionally, there was significant toe drag on the left shoe of the pair with dark edges. Aram took care of the toes drag and installed integrated toe protectors. Guy really is an artist........

I am all-in on unlined lately. Been really looking forward to getting my Ravello LHS's on feet this season but called a last-second audible yesterday and went with my Whiskey C&J's. They all just feel so good on-feet. Here's a couple of family shots. First, Alden unlined.........

Absolutely fantastic Shawn! I have two pairs of the #8 Unlineds as well and intend to replace the outsole with an Antique once I get them worn down. Enjoy them bud!
