creasing on the toe caps sure seems strange. Any more examples? Is SC more prone to creasing than others?
Creasing problems on C&J handgrades was one of the things that made me abandon them. SC the same?

There seems to be a certain 'graininess' to the leather when it creases? Is this your issue?

The toe/vamp is higher than on most shoes, more creases. Also, as Gdot eluded to, as it creases, you begin to see the leather grain

The creasing on the right shoe bothers me

As my first pair of Saint Crispin I can say that the creasing after the first wear is much more pronounced then the Bontoni's or Corthays that I own. Definitely something I will be keeping an eye on during future wears.

Were you able to try on a pair on the classic last before your purchase, or did you buy solely for aestehtic reasons?

I did not have the ability to try on but I will say that the fit is very good and the creases are not something
that really bothers me. I am still very happy with the quality, construction, etc

It's fine once you get over it, arent creases part of the character of a shoe anyway? I have 3 pairs of Saint Crispins, they crease the same way as pictured in the few posts above (grainy texture) but I still prefer them over any other shoes that I own.

You may not realize this but St Crispins lasts usually should be worn one half size smaller and wider.

The creasing on that shoe is identical to the one pair of St Crispins (my first pair) which I bought thinking it was my size.

I have since gone down 1/2 size and although slightly tight at first wear the remainder of my SC shoes make Edward Green look and feel like cheap crap by comparison.
