Will these be slippery?
nice shoes. don't know why they'd be any more slippery than any other leather soled shoe. you can go out on any rough sidewalk, put your foot down firmly, and twist a few times if they are.

Hi guys. I was looking for a good thread to post this question, and hopefully you can help. I can two pairs of nice shoes (nice to me anyways), Grenson Stanley in Tan and Mark McNairy plain derbys in tan. I have got one shoecare base covered by purchasing shoe trees for both. My questions:
1. Is Kiwi Protect-All suitable for both of these? (I just want something that's affordable and will be a good all-weather protector)?
2. For the Grensons, do I need conditioner, or will Kiwi neutral polish work fine? (then apply the Protect-All afterwards)

I called different cobblers to see if Protect-All is alcohol based (I don't want the Grensons to dry out) and one told me that every all-weather protector will have alcohol in it (which I'm pretty sure is not true). Another I asked about the polish/conditioner issue. He seemed to know very little and said that polish and conditioner were basically the same, it's just "more care" to use both.

Sorry for the long question, but I just want to get this settled and go buy the proper shoe care! Thanks.

If you want something affordable and protecting, and don't mind a matte non-shiny finish on your shoes, I think it would be best just to use some dubbin.

Don't think you noticed or appreciated the leather heels!!!
