Since the SD&PC thread went to crap I decided to do a HOF thread highlighting some of the shoos that actually constitute Appreciation. This thread is not for pics of the McMethod, vintage crap etc. so please respect. Starting with Pt2 and hopefully will be able to extract some pieces from the original thread. Ppp 1&2:

Very nice collection. The Barker Black Archdale in Antique Chestnut is one sweet looking pairs of shoes.

Noticed the disussion on Corthay and just wanted to chime in. I purchased these Arca's in July of 08 and have had zero issues with them construction wise. They were a touch snug on purchase (but not uncomfortable) and after a wear or two the fit was perfect. What I have found remarkable is the almost total lack of creasing. No other shoes I have owned (C&J, Grenson, Heschung - sorry no Lobb's, EG's or Vass to compare to) have come close in this category. My Corthay's are the only shoes I own that have lasted trees so I assume that has a lot to do with it - but I remain impressed and assume that quality construction and leather must play a role as well. (FWIW I clean and condition once a month with mostly Allen Edmonds conditioners and creams - same as all my other shoes.) This is the first time I have ever attempted to post pictures (to any site) so hopefully they appear and are decent.

My new aquisition:

First shoe by a French maker.

Personally I am kind of impressed by the shoes, at least for the price I was paying. I wouldn't have expected the channeled soles, as the pics on the website indicate that they usually have not...

Not sure about the leather quality though. My untrained eye can't spot any differences to my other shoes, but we will see.

These might send some to sleep or repel others, but I finally got a decent Dainite sole black shoe:

Ebayed NIB for a very reasonable price. My commute involves walking 4 miles a day on a mixture of tarmac, unmade roads and gravel paths - not so bad when it's dry, but in wet weather it can eat leather, and these will do when I want to spare the EG chelseas with a suit, but are casual enough for a sportscoat.

I'm surprised by the lack of comments on these. These are very cool shoes!

I just picked up these Brooks English, which, after consultation in the maker's thread, appear to be made by Cheaney. I've been wanting a good pair of black punch caps, and these are exactly the sort of thing I wanted. I'm not sure how old they are. I've included a picture of the shoe box label, which has detached from the box. That isn't the original price (it's the top of a stack of price tags).

My first English made shoes.. Joseph Cheaney for Lane Crawford. I was supposed to buy c&j westbourne but I need a pair of dark brown captoes. Hope I made the right decision. What can you say about the quality of these shoes?

I got these very cheap from E-bay, 92 pounds including new cedar shoe trees and shipping to Sweden. They are Alfred Sargent Dulwich, from the classic collection (rubber heel and not fully leather lined). I can't feel the difference in suede quality between these and the AS Thin Red Line suede brogues though, it looks to be exactly the same:

Possibly more suitable for Streetwear: Received these NDC wingtips today (ordered from Yoox). Comparable to Paul Smith Miller

Stefano Branchini boots bought from Venice, Italy during the Easter weekend.

I was familiar with the StefanoBi brand, I was not sure that is the same guy starting both brands. Obviously these are the lower-end Branchini. I paid 210 euros on sale (350 euro full price). There were a few other models on sale, but either not my size or too fancy (e.g blue and grey suede). I have not seen any good-year or norwegese Branchini and the styles were hit or miss, I was surprised to find that here on SF that hey are highly regarded.

Picked up two pairs of new dark brown shoes in the last month. Borrelli by Sutor in dark brown and my must have shoe that I've been eyeing since I joined SF - the EG Asquith in Dark Oak.

My new Bally Scribe Aken in tan (have them in black too but haven't gotten around to taking pics of them yet). Both the leather the construction are fantastic. I could not be happier with them.
