Thanks for taking the time to check out my post. I came across this beautiful pair of Quarter-Brogue Foot So Port Dress Shoes at a thrift store a while back and while doing some research on the shoes I found that Foot So Port was a US-based shoe manufacturer owned by Musebeck Shoe Co. They began their business in Oconomowoc, WI. manufacturing intricately designed clown shoes and later expanded into high-quality dress shoes.

From what I have read their main manufacturing plant in Oconomowoc, WI. caught fire and burned to the ground close to 15 years ago now and they were never able to recover financially from the loss.

My grandfather told me that Foot So Port Lasts were very ahead of their time. He even went so far as to refer to them as the Allen Edmonds of their time. He said that the craftsmanship of their dress shoes was second to none when compared to other US shoe manufacturers.

I also heard that after the fire some of the old employees rounded up all of the old lasts they could get their hands on and began production in Mexico, however, due to a lack of quality control production was halted nearly as quickly as it began.

Now, nearly 2 decades after Foot So Port stopped production it is nearly impossible to find information about many of the shoes they once manufactured making it nearly impossible to find the model or the manufacturing date of a vintage Foot So Port shoe.

If there is anyone out the with a vast knowledge of Foot So Port I would like to find out what model I have as well as the manufacturing date. The reason I am so interested is that they don't fit me and I would like to sell them, however, I know that I will be able to command a higher price if I have more information about the shoes.

Thank you in advance to anyone that is kind enough to share their knowledge with me. I greatly appreciate your contribution and will be sure to pay it forward the next opportunity I get to share my knowledge with someone in need.

Kindest Regards
