The toe shape is a little bothersome. My friend calls my black-cherrys Ronald-McDonald shoes. I repeatedly hit my boot with a hammer to try to flaten the toe out, but the damn thing just ends up popping back up. Dah well.
That's the 'Red Wing' look. I've gotten used to it. It also doesn't look as bad to others but to you while wearing them, it looks larger.

i was at my local red wing store today and the measuring computer machine said i'm between a 10.5 and 11 (more towards an 11) for that matter. I bought the 9043 beckman oxfords in size 10, i get some heel slippage (even in the 9 and 9.5 I get it) but I'm wondering if I should have gotten a 10.5 since I plan on keeping these shoes pretty much forever and I know feet tend to get a little bigger

I noticed this on my black cherry Beckmanns. The stain is somewhat burned to the lower layers of the leather. Not really expected something like this for a 300 € boots. Any ideas how to fix it?

Hey everyone, I tried searching for an answer but came up with nothing. I just ordered a pair of 1907 in rough and tough copper. In Winipeg we have cold and wet winters and these will be my primary footwear. My question is how do I care and treat the rough and tough leather? If it considered a oiled leather, roughout leather or smooth leather?

:slayer: TIA

Boot-oil and SnoSeal it aka The Crane Method.

It comes off as an oily-leather to me, but also smooth - difficult to polish up, but not impossible.

Apply shoe polish, let dry, apply more, let dry....then brush and buff.

comparng the leather of GTs from 2009 to the Beckmans of 2012...the leather seems softer on the newer models

I got the 214's while ago and the toe area is a lot more narrow than the 875. Well I'm narrow in the way the look because the fit is the same that the 875's. I believe they look like that because the moc toe is not double layered like the 875's and the rubber/cork sole is a lot more thinner than the crepe soles in the 875's. Personally they look more dressy than the regular moc toes but I just don't like them like that my feet look too small (I'm size 11 us) I'm getting the soles replaced with vibram crepe soles this weekend so I might send you a pic soon.
