I have them both and they fit just the same as any RW moc toe boot. Same sizing.

I have no idea what I should get. 11s in AEs and most other shoes, 11.5 in sneakers. Slightly wider feet. May have a chance to try some on in November but if it starts getting cold sooner than that I'll just buy a few pairs from Endless.

@ Stevent I grabbed them the usual 1/2 size smaller and they fit good. I also grabbed the Jcrew brand but I don't think there is anything special about the J-crew ones.

As others have said, go for 11 in the RW.

I am a D or, ideally a C width. I find these boots to have a comfortable roomy but not too wide fit. They have a classic work boot feel. There's room for thicker socks. Or a cushion foot bed with an average weight sock (assuming you've sized down one half size from your dress shoe size). The key is to make sure they are the right length because they will loosen up everywhere else. FYI a couple of months ago I posted photos of mine after a couple of years wear (but after I cleaned them up).

Looking for advice on how to bring back some of the luster and color in a pair of beat up but otherwise still awesome pair of 1960s Red Wing work boots.

The leather still has its classic reddish-brown color everywhere except in the toe area, where it's basically turned grey or black. It also has places where the top of the leather has been torn and scrapped away. They look good but I feel they would be better if I could get them cleaned up a bit. So far I have washed them with saddle soap and applied leather conditioner.

Should I attempt to recondition them myself? If so, how?

Apply some mahogany shoe polish?

Should I send them to RW?

Has anyone tried on a pair of 296's? Unfortunately the Red Wing store nearest to me only had this style and it was the only boot remotely close to a 875.

Just trying to get an idea on how these fit compared to other styles...

I have a pair of 1907s that fit OK in the length but the toe box is slightly cramped. I have the stock insole in them right now so its very thin. Does anyone know whether the leather in the toe box will loosen slightly after break-in or should I size up, stick an insole in there and deal with the heel slippage.

The thing about these boots is that the leather goes straight up the back of the boot from the hell and does curve to fit your heel like other boots do.

my 1907's were quite cramped in the toe box when I first got them but they eventually stretched out enough where my feet didn't hurt anymore. As far as the heel slipping, one thing you can try is wrapping the super long laces around the back of the shoe real tight before you tie them. helped me with slippage.

Get Thorgoods instead. They look nicer, are made in USA, and are half the price.
