Recent purchases - Part II

So I was on holiday last week and the Needles blazer I ordered with FromJapan was sitting in the postal depot all the time, finally took delivery today. And...... they sent me the brown version rather than the navy/grey.

Which is unfortunate because, as Secondstage notes on their blog (and size chart indicates) the brown version runs smaller than the navy (probably variation due to the washing treatment of the fabric or something). And the brown one sent to me doesn't fit.

To be honest I think the screw up was Secondstage's rather than FromJapan. Even though they have individual url's for items that come in multiple colours, there's still a 'choose colour' drop down menu that can show the 'wrong' colour for a given item. That doesn't seem to be the case now, but I think it may have been when I ordered, and I've seen it with other items on their site. I could have lived with the alternate colour if it wasn't for the fit issue. Needles really isn't meant to be worn sausage casing style.

First time I've proxied anything

. I may contact FromJapan to see if I can return it. Has anyone had to do this before? It doesn't completely match the item description/picture/url I gave on the order form so I should potentially have grounds for a return. Unless anyone's interested in taking it off my hands? Will fit a S/36.

I'm devastated, the style and fabric treatment etc. are perfect and exactly what I was looking for. I guess there's more to life than Japanese made vagrant-hippie tweed jackets with frayed-edges, but it sure doesn't feel like it right now.

Anyway, for posterity, here's a fit.




The sleeve lining seems intended to peep out a bit from the cuff. I like it, though you could also tuck it in.

Its an M, same size as the other two Needles pieces I have. This definitely fits on the small side though. Shoulders are around 16.5" or just over, which is mad tight on me, although there is some give to the wool. If secondstage's measurements are at all accurate for the navy one that would fit me better, though a L might be best in either colour
