There's no doubt the pocket square is way more versatile, but I think the pocket circle is something to add to the collection to change it up once in a while. It also gives a very distinct look that you don't see all the time. Just my opinion.

I'm pretty sure I posted this on SF but I can't find the thread anymore, but here's my pocket circle thread from AAAC. The page on my site is gone; I must've forgotten about it and deleted it, but the action pics are on my Flickr.

Though it was all started by fellow Austinite, overdog.

They have Pocket Circles at Wilkes Bashford in San Francisco. The look reminds me of Carnation petals. It isn't bad but it is limited to one look, like a pre folded pocket square. I much prefer the individual expression of a square where I can fold, puff or stuff depending upon the look I want on any day.

I'd like to pick up some entry level white linen squares. Any suggestions? Would prefer to order online. I'm in Seattle.

I popped into On The Fly this afternoon and (quickly) stuffed a pocket circle into my pocket and took a picture. Not ideal, but you'll get the picture. They also have some more interesting wool fabrics than they had a few months ago. I think you could also do a puff successfully with it. Anyway:

They look too frilly-frilly, the folds, that is. Based on the pictures we've seen they always seem to come out with a kind of jellyfish frou-frou look instead of the pleasing geometry of a square. The circle wants to expand outwards. Besides, you would have to deal with the sheer repugnance and embarrassment of having to open your handkerchief drawer and find those...doilies... in it. Not a first-class item.

Perhaps you've been looking for a way to evoke fan-shaped paving stones in a handkerchief. Perhaps they remind you of your country home or your days strolling the city promenade.
Something like this:

Look no further. This sturdy Danish cotton fabric is just what you need.
White and ivory "stones" rest on a ground of muted silver. The stones are about 5mm across. Something of a nice alternative to a white square. This is a fairly resilient cotton and not too flimsy. I should be able to get another two to three squares out of this.
Please PM if desired! Sorry for the awful blue cast in the photographs. You get the idea.

I love picking up a thread like this and reading all the way through but hate when I get to the end.

Need more.
