A Tom Hanks classic: Joe vs. The Volcano. A complicated setup leads to Joe with an unlimited budget for a shopping trip. He heads to Armani, Alfred Dunhill, Hammacher Schlemmer, and a few other places I forget. I’ve always wanted a few of those brass Coleman lamps and still look for them at flea markets.

“Clothes make the man. I believe that. You say to me you wanna go shopping, you wanna buy clothes, but you don't know what kind. You leave that hanging in the air, like I'm going to fill in the blank, that to me is like asking me who you are, and I don't know who you are, I don't wanna know. It's taken me my whole life to find out who I am and I'm tired now, you hear what I'm say in'?”

Marshall: And what do you got in the way of clothes now?

Joe: Well, I’ve got the kind of clothes I’m wearing.

Marshall: So you've got no clothes. We'll start with basics. We'll start with underwear. We'll start with Dunhill

Joe’s on an adventure and went with the theme of “luxury safari.”

@HansderHund Joe vs The Volcano is a classic.

Not sure if this is what you meant by "group shot", but I'm at the beach for a few days and this is what I was wearing this morning for relaxing by the pool.

Polo: Sunspel Riviera
Shorts: Orlebar Brown Setters
Sunglasses: Ray-Ban
Backgammon: a favorite on-set game of Roger Moore and Cubby Broccoli to pass the time between takes

There 's a little bit of Bond influence ...
:cool2: :-D

Exactly what I meant! Really like that Sunspel, I’ll definitely pick one up this summer!

I haven’t seen the film, but I really like that scene. I don’t gravitate towards burgundy in the summer, but it pairs well with cream.

It's a very funny caper film. Morely and Ustinov really ham it up.
and the inimitable Akim Tamiroff makes a brief appearance

Pierce Brosnan has some great (and timeless) warm weather style in the 1988 mini-series Noble House. Especially the cream silk suit he wears during his trip to Macau.

And since @HansderHund seems to enjoy them, a flatlay based on the look:
Pierce Brosnan NH Cream Silk Suit Flatlay SF.jpg

Brosnan's suit was silk and leaned more tan, but I get a lot of use out of this line/cotton one. As for the shirt, Brosnan wore a pale blue with pencil stripes. However, I'm just not a fan of striped shirts (just personal preference). So I went with a pale blue tone-on-tone glen plaid. Regarding the tie: it's from Turnbull & Asser (according to bondsuits.com, Brosnan's was PRL. I just want to say that I am aware mine has the stripes going in the British direction, which I know has significance re: military service. No offense is intended. Lastly the socks: Brosnan goes with bright red. Sorry, just couldn't do it. I try to give 'em a nod with my selection.

I’ve never seen it before, but I prefer the color of your suit. Who made it? Nice inspiration!

I thought I'd bump this thread with a few shots from Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Steve Martin and Michael Caine play con artists, the latter of which is a refined British expert. The style lessons and impromptu finishing school is an an entertaining scene. Great scenery throughout.

To Catch A Thief - The first look is probably my favorite for summer ever.

I love watching that film for the exterior shots and the clothes. I get a little disappointed by the time the third reel starts and Cary is either in fancy dress or in Cat burglar garb.

There’s a continuity error with the fastening of his blazer buttons when he’s in the lobby with Grace about to go house hunting.
