Very nice. Though I have this thing with patch pockets, that they always look nice to me, but don't look nice on me.

It makes sense that contrasting button holes maybe too much, but what's wrong with cufflinked cuffs? (see my response to Doc a post or two up from yours).

It's almost like asking the Amish for suggestions to blinging up.

It seems like just about the only fun recommended by SF is getting one made in a loud checks fabric.

Surely there are interesting touches you can add to a bespoke piece without being tacky.

This last is the key to the entire thread. Of course tacky means different things to different people, de gustibus non est disputandum and all that...if you like it, do it!

Not a bad idea for mixing it up.

How about a vertically **** breast or a cuff ticket pocket? (Probably wouldn't recommend doing both at once like these chaps.)

I know where you can have a duck tape (sic) lining made up.

- different colors for lapel hole and/or button holes (inspired by Gay Talese)

any comments, or other ideas?

You can put the leather (?) buttons they usually use on tweeds,
NO buttons on the cuff,
4 or 5 buttons on the cuff and use one different colored button (like all black buttons and do one cranberry colored one [similar to Paul Smith]),
all different kinds of buttons on sleeves (Shipley and Halmos),
hidden snap closure
