Hello everyone, as a follow-up, apparently they do not make the 724 as E width, despite the chestnut Moore being offered in E and F on their website. They do have an E width last, however, the SK1, that can be made MTO.

Does anyone have experience or pictures of the SK1? I can't find a whisper about it. Thanks!

I have a pair on SK1, a last PSS has recently developed. Compared to 724 it has a lower instep (or is just tighter in terms of girth) and a bit tighter heel. While I find 724 a great fit, SK1 is marginally greater due to its closer feel and little extra arch support. For me it's a bit like a merger between 724 (shape, length) and their HG lasts (feel).
You can see it here in this post (https://www.styleforum.net/threads/...gent-appreciation-thread.303820/post-11224037), incorrectly described as 724. It's actually SK1.
It does feel more like E fit so it may be up your alley, tbh. If I can help you any more, just let me know.

Hello. I'll be glad to get help. How does last 724 compare with Carmina Rain in length, width, instep and heel?

Hi, I'm wondering if I can get sizing advice on the Armfield. I'm a UK7-7.5 on Crockett & Jones 337 last so how would that compare?

Thanks.

Sorry for the distraction guys, but we’d enjoy having all of you drop in to the current Friday Challenge. I know you guys are sharp, so why not post a quick shot of your favorite corduroy piece or outfit. The challenge ends late tonight, and the voting poll goes up straight away.

Hello all,
New to the forum, although I've been following it for a while and enjoyed the wealth of information and inspiration on offer from all the knowledgeable enthusiasts who contribute.

I own a number of AS shoes and boots, and now I'm looking at getting a pair of black captoe boots for everyday city use - that's to say somewhere between a robust country boot and a smart dress boot. As expected, Paul Sargent are very accommodating towards modifications to their usual styles, including alternative lasts, so I've no doubt they're the ideal maker. Something like the black waxy Holburn seems a good basis to start from.

Big question is the last. I have a pretty regular foot (TTS UK11) and my AS Howard on the 7WK in UK11 is a pretty good fit, but still a generous country last (though much sleeker than the bulbous Tricker's 4497s), I'd ideally like something that hugs my foot around the instep without constricting the toes (Cheaney's 12508 and Red Wing's Iron Ranger on the last 8 do this quite well, to name two I know well).

Does anyone here have experience with both the 7WK and the 87F lasts? Especially as far as instep, toe and overall "sleekness" are concerned? I get conflicting messages on the latter - a last I have yet to try - when searching the forums. From photos, the toe on the 87F looks little a bit more pointed, which would be a concern.

Any help would be much appreciated!

The mahogany is the Cambridge on 87F, the tan one is the Harrold on 7wk. For me the 87 holds my heels better. 87F is way sleeker as well. Instepwise it's hard to tell but I'd reckon the boots to be a reasonable choice in your case. Let me know if you need any more help.

I have a pair and can confirm they are indeed made by Sargent. It looks identical to the Armfield, but as I don't own the latter I can't say if there is a difference in leather quality.
The main difference will be in the sole.
