Has anyone ever order from The Broken Arm before? If so, can one expect to hit with a customs charge?

Maaaaan, I wish End would ship some way other than just Fedex. There's something I really want to buy, but the import fees would be so high for it. I was just chatting with customer service, and it was like talking to a robot.

"Unfortunately, we can only ship Fedex to the US"

...

Has anyone ever ordered something from End to the tune of a couple thousand dollars? What were the import fees like?

Related to my question above, do import duties/fees charged by Fedex ever top out, or are they a straight percentage? I'm just curious what fees on something that was, say, $2500 might be.

^thanks for that. I found a calculator on Fedex, too, and it looks like duties/fees would be about $400, same as VAT

guys, what stores do you NOT get hit with customs when it's over $200 and ups/fedex/dhl....unless they say it's prepaid you're gonna get hit, right?
over 200 you will always get hit with a brokerage fee for non-national postage. These are different from customs but billed the same.

I have had orders from Norse Store and theNextdoor. Each were just under $300 and sent by FedEx. No fees on either. I can't explain it. I was anticipating charges.

When you get an international package, look at the label and/or the included customs form to see what value your package was declared as.
That could explain your lack of charges. Or you were just lucky.

Just use shipito.com, they have a WH in Austria now, from which you can choose yourself the way of shipping including how much you want to declare it. I'm in EU and use their US WH all the time.

Then those in the US have to pay the same VAT that us Europeans have to pay. The joy of UK shopping for US citizens is that they pay 20% less than us.

So what do you do when UPS charges you customs on the full retail of the items you bought at discount?

I'm trying to figure out if there's a good chance of being hit with customs etc. buying from Frans Boone. Does anyone know?
