The ref doesn't want the game to be decided by red cards, but seriously, Netherlands should have two of them right now. They are making some nasty tackles out there. What a shame, I had a lot of respect for them before.

No surprise here, Van Bommel and De Jong playing like absolute thugs. Add Robben flopping and it's looking very 2010 Dutch-like.

Wow. Game for 3rd and game for 1st are like a day-night-difference. Yesterday was all out with really creative game, today it's the Dutch going all Rugby style.

I'd have loved to see Germany or Uruguay win the championship. Now I'm rooting for Spain like there's no tomorrow.

Netherlands is ******* ridiculous with these fouls, I mean seriously. Kick to the chest? That ball was NOWHERE even close.

I don't get the criticism this Spanish team gets. their football is wonderful. Quick short passes meant to open up teams. Is it their fault that every team they play either hacks or sits 10 behind the ball? Out of fear? I guess I watch too much espn.

Here we go again.

I used to be a big fan of Netherlands in the 90s, first with the legendary dutch trio of AC Milan (Van Basten, Rijkaard, Gullit) and the 1988 generation, then with the 1995 Ajax generation (Seedorf, Overmars, Davids, De Boer brothers...) + Bergkamp. What a pity they couldn't get in the final in 1998. At least they played in one of the most legendary match in the history of recent WC, the semi-final against Brazil.

This generation is so much less talented and classy, even though higly overhyped with the likes of Robben and Van Persie. I hope they lose the final and only get remembered for how many red cards they should have got in this first half!
